About Amber

Born and raised in a single-parent home in Charleston, WV, Amber moved to New York City to pursue her passion of acting—ultimately working on Broadway and touring with the musical Mamma Mia.

In 2009, she left the world of theater and earned an MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

She founded two flourishing businesses as a professional coach and facilitator—bodyheart and Fierce Loving. Amber lives in Encino, CA with her fiance, Vince, and their two rescue pups, Lucky and Matzah!

How are you hoping to grow personally and professionally over the next year?

I'm getting married this year, so my biggest intention personally is to enjoy the entire wedding process from start to finish. A close second is to build community and be actively engaged in a thriving tribe of conscious, real deal women—like The Guilde!

What would surprise people most about you?

I love hip hop music and sometimes write my own raps to share on special occasions. I'm even looking at doing some spoken word for my wedding vows. (Shhh! Don't tell anyone though. It's a surprise.)

What in your life to date has given you the biggest sense of fulfillment or satisfaction?

Wow. First to come to mind: Broadway debut, Tedx Talk, the first year I made real money in my business, getting engaged. However, biggest sense of fulfillment, probably my USM education. I left that two year program a different person. I had a new orientation to life—one that was kinder and more loving towards myself and others.

Tell us about one or more women you admire (could be a relative, a friend, a mentor, a cultural heroine):

Michelle Bauman. Michelle was my coach, who passed away from cancer in 2015. During my time working with her my life dramatically changed for the better. She was a demonstration of Fierce Loving—and what occurs when we're willing to take a stand for our clients, friends and loved ones. I'm honored to carry on her legacy of enthusiasm, loving, and fun. Her favorite question was: How good can you stand it?

As a mentor I can offer: insights and guidance on growing a service-based business—coaches, therapists, creatives, etc. I also have experience supporting women in their relationships with their bodies—choosing love instead of fear and insecurity. I have a natural gift of enthusiasm to share. And, anything Fierce Loving is my jam!

As a mentee I am looking for: Ideas on expansion and growth in my coaching practice—including marketing, speaking opportunities, etc. I'm also interested in resources on building a team...and writing a book.
